Introduction
Chef Owned/Operated Featured on "Emeril Live"
Coach Stop Inn Bed & Breakfast, built c.1804 is Bar Harbor's oldest inn, originally a stagecoach stop and tavern. Stepping through the front door is truly like stepping back in time to over 200 years ago when Thomas Jefferson was president. Enjoy our country setting surrounded by antique apple trees and lovely gardens. Our convenient location makes it easy to get to all that Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park have to offer. You'll be sure to remember Jeff & Natalie's attention to detail and you will find that the food is what you will be talking about for many years. Come see why "Down East" magazine says Coach Stop Inn is "Where to Stay in Bar Harbor".
"A wonderful find and an excellent value, with cheerful, well-decorated rooms and knowledgeable, friendly innkeepers. Generous breakfast highlighted by delicious blueberry coffee cake and homemade blueberry and cranberry jams."
America's Favorite Inns, B&Bs & Small Hotels, food reviewer & editor
The weathered shingled building has been completely restored, yet has retained the unique characteristics of this rural tavern dating to the time of Thomas Jefferson's presidency. It harmoniously blends the warmth of original wide plank pine floors, ancient exposed beam ceilings, colonial fences and arbors, with modern day comforts, bright designer fabrics and wallpapers and all private baths.
Breakfast At Coach Stop Inn evokes the pleasure of the passing seasons, as we might have experienced them at an earlier, gentler time. Each day a 3 course gourmet breakfast and afternoon tea is served in the dining rooms.
"If you are looking for country tranquility with panache in Bar Harbor, Coach Stop Inn, built in 1804 and formerly used as a stagecoach stop and tavern is the place to stay."
Miami "Diario Las Americas", food reviewer
