Larry and Cindy built The Homestead to provide a peaceful and relaxing getaway, so that you can return to your daily life rejuvenated and refreshed. We welcome guests from all walks of life that are seeking accommodations where privacy and quiet are treasured. We believe in always being "available" to assist you in any way, but to never be "in your way".
Our guests are honeymooners, those celebrating special occasions, and outdoor adventurers who love hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, bird watching. An appreciation of our blend of a mountain setting with luxury accommodations brings our guests back quite often. Most use their Homestead Cottage as home base for visiting Yosemite. From our location you have easy access to two entrances to Yosemite.
The Homestead is just 10 minutes from the mountain village of Oakhurst which is host to quaint shops, art galleries, the latest movies, local plays, restaurants and supermarkets. We are close to Yosemite, Sierra National Forest, Bass Lake, mountain biking, golfing, horseback riding, hiking, fishing and local wineries.

Horse Layover
For guests that own their horses and want to explore this area by horseback, we have a stabling area for your equine friends. About 20% of our guests love to bring their horses along to have luxury accommodations for both of you. We can accommodate a maximum of 5 horses in 4, 12' X 12' partially covered pipe corral stalls and 1 uncovered 12' X 24' pipe stall. We have mapped out many of the trails in nearby Sierra National Forest and Yosemite and assist you in planning your rides. Trailering off the property to the trailheads is very easy. The trailering time varies from 15 to 50 minutes depending on the trail you choose. The per night charge for the stalls is $15 per horse. For guests that do not have their own horses, there are several stables nearby for guided rides.
